How to draw with a colour pencil

Hello Buddies 🙂

How are you doing its been a loooooooong time I have posted something here. Sorry for leaving my space unattended and keeping you all waiting. I have been held up with some exams and couldn’t post anything here. I almost forgot “Happy Ramzan” to all my Muslim buddies 🙂 Wishes and Apologies done now shall we move on to what I have in store for you. I wasn’t posting anything lately but I have been making few crafts now and then to keep me sane ;). So this week lets start with a lighter and easier post.

Colour Pencil drawing

In school every child might have used a colour pencil. It might have been our fancy to colour every colouring page given by our craft teacher. We get fascinated by the crayons and colour pencils when we were young. As we grew up we moved to better colouring means like paint water colour and many more. We have left behind the colour pencils and thought they were for kids and we think we have out grown it.

Its never a sin to go back to your childhood and relive those happiness. It makes us feeling good. Same way I thought of doing a colour pencil drawing in memory of my childhood colouring books. But this time the colouring was a bit matured :). Its not a bad idea anyway It turned out to be a pretty nice drawing. Let me show you how I made one !

Supplies Required :

  • Card Stock
  • Colour Pencil
  • Ordinary drawing pencil
  • Eraser

My Method :

  1. Since we are grown up now we will draw our own drawing instead of the colouring books
  2. So the first step is to trace the design in a simple pencil outline drawingPencil sketch full
  3. Once the design is complete slightly rub it with eraser It should be seen but not so prominentpencil sketch
  4. Now start colouring with the colour pencils
  5. I used only two colours. SInce mine is a floral design, Green for leaves and Pink for the flowers thats it I meant it to be simple
  6. First Green outline to the stem and leaves draw with little pressuretrace outline green
  7. Then colour the insides of the outline without pressure ever so lightly
  8. Next is the flower I drew the outlines darker and made few places opaque with thick colourTrace outline pink
  9. Then the left out part inside the flower was coloured pink but lighter like we did in the leavesComplete shading
  10. We are almost done. Now I made it a little darker here and there few finishing touches and I am amazed by my pretty drawing myself.Darken it
  11. Really a good drawing with such simple tools
  12. Go grab your set of colour pencils and make your pencil drawings in colour 🙂
  13. Have fun and do share your beautiful drawingsfill shade

Happy drawing 🙂

Glass Painting Rangoli

Hello Buddies 🙂

This is one colourful and very easy craft for those who love painting and colours 🙂 Rangoli is a must in almost all functions and celebrations in India. Those beautiful colours and designs are the most beautiful decorations. I have tried to do this colourful Rangoli using glass paintings my new try 🙂 If you missed my Glass painting tutorial post check it out here9

These small handy Rangolis can be used in Pooja room floors. A small Diya lamp will be more beautiful on this Glass painting Rangoli. But keep some non conduting material below the diya. OHP sheet might melt on heat. Ok now off to the tutorial.

Supplies required :

  • Glass Paint
  • Glass liner
  • OHP sheet
  • Scissors
  • White chart
  • Glue

My method :

  1. Draw the outline of the Rangoli on the OHP sheet with thin erasable marker. This step can be avoided If you are confident you can directly draw with the glass liner.outline
  2. Now trace the Outline with Black Glass liner on the OHP sheet and you can use 3D Gold glitter to add charm. Include all the small detail designs using the liner.Glass liner outline
  3. Once the tracing with glass liner is completed let it dry for 15 to 20 mins.Completed outline
  4. Now fill the Glass paint colours inside the Rangoli designGlass paint
  5. In glass painting all the colours are bright and beautiful. Selection of colours is purely based on your own choice and creativity 🙂 you can also leave some space blank.Fill colours
  6. After filing all the colours let it dry for atleast half and hour to dry.Completed colours
  7. Now cut the design alone from the OHP sheet. leave a gap of 0.5 cm around the design while cutting it outcutting
  8. Stick this on a white chart with a glue and cut out the chart around the design similarly.
  9. Thats it Rangoli ready 🙂 !Rangoli

Adore your Pooja room with these pretty reusable rangolis. I gifted this to my friend for navrathri. You can also make these and give it as favour gifts in Navrathri Golu functions 🙂 Try different designs of your choice and tell me how you liked it 🙂

Quilling – My experience :)

Hello friends 🙂

For long time I wanted to try one of this beautiful crafting technique – Quilling. Finally I tried  this quilling technique. It’s really pretty and practically easy to make. The vibrant colours of the quilling papers are added benefits. There are so many things I have planned in my mind to do with this quilling, but “First things first”. So I am going to share with you my first experience with quilling.Quilling design

Supplies Requiredsupplies

  • Quilling Needle
  • Quilling paper
  • Glue
  • Pencil
  • Card Stock

My Method

  1. Draw outline of your favourite design using pencil in the cardstock or any base paper or card where you wish to make your design.(Optional).
  2. Did you notice the shaggy paper next to the quilling, It is the original design I drew long back in my college notebook when the classes were boring. This design came in handy now. Its one of my favourite 🙂DSC08074
  3. Decide colours for each part of your design. Quilling papers comes with many colours and variants, so choices are plenty.
  4. outlineoutline
  5. Next Quilling design has to be chosen. I used two among the basic techniques – Tight scroll and Tea drop. Quilling
  6. The difficult part is fixing the paper along the outline, whereas scroll and tea drops were pretty easy.lines
  7. To create lines you will have to hold the strips using tweezers or quilling needle or your hand itself for atleast 15 secs.
  8. Scrolls can be  made easily. You have to place one end of the quilling strip inside the quilling needle and start rolling it tight and secure the loose end with glue.quilling
  9. To make tea drop make a little loose scroll then pinch one corner of the scroll to make the tea drop shape.
  10. Once all your pieces are ready stick them one by one on your design.
  11. Thats it you are done !
  12. Design is ready 🙂Frame

Frame it ! Hang it ! Admire it ! 🙂 🙂

There are so many things you can make using this quilling technique. Greeting cards, earrings, Gifts, Gift tags etc. I am so excited to try them all 🙂 Will post you with the updates soon 🙂
